How do you evolve magikarp

Most of the time, Magikarp is caught in the wild at a level higher than 20, so it's usually pretty easy. Since it's caught in many different places in almost every game, Magikarp can be caught at some wildly extreme levels.

However, Magikarp puts this to shame, coming in a couple dozen colors. This is, of course, because of Magikarp Jump! There's a standard orange 'karp, and about nine or ten that are orange with a different white pattern on their body. There are also pink Magikarp, blue ones, purple ones, brown, white, black, blue, and more.

There's also, of course, the classic gold shiny Magikarp. Examples include Slowpoke, which supposedly evolves after a Shellder bites its tail or head , and Larvitar, which is said to evolve after consuming a mountain.

This is untrue, of course, and is based on Chinese legends that state carp that leap through the Dragon Gate on a waterfall will become a dragon, serving as an allegory for the power of perserverance. Magikarp is found by throwing an object into bodies of water almost everywhere that you can.

They'll fly out of the water and flop around in the air for a great photo op. They'll even appear in the small body of water at the end of the Volcano level. Magikarp is a pure Water-type, so it should aim for Water-type moves.

Since Magikarp is a water-type Pokemon, it is far more likely to spawn near water, and players can potentially earn three Magikarp candy for each one they catch. Players can double that number to six candy from Magikarp catches by feeding them a Pinap Berry first, though, so keep that in mind. Other ways players can earn Magikarp candy include hatching them out of eggs focus on 2km eggs and by feeding them rare candy, commonly earned as raid battle rewards.

If possible, players should try to do higher level raids as they will yield better rewards, including more rare candy than the lower tier raids. Magikarp, by the way, can also be fought in raids, which will be helpful in the long process to evolve it into a Gyarados. The final tip we have for collecting Magikarp candy as fast as possible is by farming the Field Research quest to Catch X Number of Pokemon.

If players find a PokeStop that is giving out this quest, they can spin it once a day for repeated opportunities to catch Magikarp. I think this would have worked during the water festival. On other days I've tried this.

Literal fishing, who could've imagined that? If you're able to find something like that you'll only need a couple of hours. There's a spot like that near me too. I got over candy without even trying. But, I definitely could be wrong. I assume the additional candies from hatching is because of the chance that if you just hatched a rare that doesn't spawn near you, finding NONE AT ALL ever again would be really frustrating for leveling it up. You only need to transfer 97 of the Magikarps. Your arithmetic skills are outstanding, mostly because you actually used them. Now that Pinap Berries are available, the math is even more favorable.

Catching 58 Magikarp with Pinap berries on at least 57 of them and transferring 57 of those will be the shortest route now, leaving out the possibilities of wild Gyarados or egg hatching.
