Register here. It has been three months since the West End officially closed its doors , and we're all praying that the theatre world can find its feet again once the crisis has passed. While lockdown seems to ease for commercial arts venues and shops, it is still not time for theatres to do the same, as there is a lot to figure out in terms of safety and social distancing.
From the start of the theatre shutdown, Society of London Theatre has confirmed that in the event of show runs being entirely cancelled, customers will be entitled to full refunds. But what about the shows that are postponing or will reopen after the crisis clears? You can follow our run-down of which shows and theatres in London are closed here.
As of now, all of London's theatres are among them, and issuing refunds for cancelled shows — but asking for donations from those who can afford it. ATG theatres, which has suspended performances until August 2 subject to change , has confirmed that they will be contacting ticket holders before this time to sort out exchanges or refunds. They ask for patience due to the volume of ticket-holders.
Full refunds will be given to completely cancelled runs. Delfont Mackintosh theatres are also offering exchanges and refunds for all shows scheduled up until August 2, and they will contact you to sort this out. Refunds can only be returned to the original payment card. If you are unable to re-visit in person before the event the Box Office will arrange for a refund to be made to either by Cheque or a nominated Debit Card.

It is recommended to arrive at the theatre at least 30 minutes prior to the performance. What are Stalls and Dress Circle? Stalls is short for Orchestra Stalls and is the 'ground floor' of the Auditorium. Dress Circle is the circle above the Stalls. Upper Circle is the circle above the Dress Circle. Balcony is the circle above the Upper Circle and is the cheapest in the theatre. Are theatres open 7 days a week and on Bank Holidays?
Most are open Monday - Saturdays, but closed on Sunday except for a few shows. They will only close on Christmas Day itself. However, many theatres may have an earlier start time on Christmas Eve. The rest of the time the theatres are open normally. In fact many have extra matinee performances. Most Theatres operate normally on all other Bank Holidays. Is there a dress code when I go to the theatre? There is no dress code for most theatres, however we would advise that customers dress smart-casual.
Can I take photographs of the show? Sorry, no video cameras, still cameras or recording devices are allowed to be used in any theatres.
